By David Truman

Attitudes in Australia toward President Trump reflect the almost universally negative narrative of the globalists and the mass media they control.  They portray Trump as a morally bad person, fickle and unpredictable, dictatorial and a wrecker.  Many people believe it – even many who consider themselves conservative.

The mainstream media, the US Democrats and the entertainment industry (populated by many Satanists) and Australian Labor and the verminous Greens believe this narrative.  Stock markets fear a coming recession because of Trump’s tariff policies  (more on that later).  A fair number of Australian business commentators are also badmouthing Trump.

Lethbridge’s cartoon in the Brisbane Courier-Mail of 2 April 2025 shows Albanese (Labor PM) hampered by his preference arrangement with the subversive Greens, but also shows Peter Dutton (Liberal-National Leader of the Opposition) being held back by (imagined) Trumpism.   In fact, Dutton is being very timid on many matters that genuine conservatives would love to be addressed in Australia along the lines of what Trump is doing in the US.

Consider President Trump’s actions since his second inauguration.

TRUMP’S REVOLUTION – EXECUTIVE ORDERS up to April 2, 2025

On the day he came to office, 20 January 2025, President Trump issued 26 Executive Orders (EOs).  The beginning of an economic and cultural Blitzkrieg!   Up to 2 April he had issued over 110, including several rescinding measures by Biden.

Let’s look at a grouped selection of important initiatives by Trump, grouped here by type:

  • political;
  • culture, values and national identity;
  • economic efficiency;
  • energy and mining;
  • national security and immigration;
  • environment and relations with the UN;  and
  • health.

POLITICAL

EO 14147 — Ending the Weaponization of the Federal Government

This stops the federal government from using law enforcement and intelligence agencies for political purposes (which is what the Biden administration – face of the Deep State – did to Trump).

EO 14248:   Preserving and Protecting the Integrity of American Elections.  This requires documentary proof of U.S. citizenship.  Why should illegals and non-citizens vote?

CULTURE, VALUES, AND NATIONAL IDENTITY

EO 14149 — Restoring Freedom of Speech and Ending Federal Censorship.  This prevents federal actions that unconstitutionally suppress speech, especially via online platforms.  Australia needs this too!

EO 14160 — Protecting the Meaning and Value of American Citizenship.  This withholds U.S. citizenship from people born in the U.S. to parents in the country either illegally or temporarily.  (The measure is designed to stop the practice of “anchor babies,” but is subject to Constitutional challenge.)

EO 14168 — Defending Women From Gender Ideology Extremism and Restoring Biological Truth to the Federal Government.   This recognizes biological sex as immutable and directs federal agencies to align their policies with this understanding.

EO 14172 — Restoring Names That Honor American Greatness.  This reinstates the name “Mount McKinley” (the original name before Obama dubbed it Denali) and renames other national landmarks, including redubbing the Gulf of Mexico as the “Gulf of America.”

EO 14187 — Protecting Children From Chemical and Surgical Mutilation.   This prohibits federal funding for chemical and surgical mutilation of children, including the use of puberty blockers and surgical procedures.  There has been an explosion of gender dysphoria deliberately induced by Cultural Marxism.

EO 14188 — Additional Measures To Combat Anti-Semitism.  This cracks down on antisemitism particularly on college campuses.

EO 14190 — Ending Radical Indoctrination in K-12 Schooling.  This eliminates federal funding for discriminatory policies in K-12 public education, such as “gender ideology” and “equity ideology.”

EO 14201 — Keeping Men Out of Women’s Sports.  This withdraws federal funds from non-compliant educational programs to ensure that women’s sports are reserved for biological females.

EO 14202 — Eradicating Anti-Christian Bias.  This establishes a task force to identify and correct any potential anti-Christian bias in government policies or practices.  The Constitution provides for freedom OF religion, not freedom FROM religion.

EO 14204 — Addressing Egregious Actions of the Republic of South Africa.  This halts U.S. aid to South Africa due to the racially discriminatory policies of seizing property from Afrikaners without compensation, and promotes resettlement of these Afrikaner refugees in the U.S.  Why doesn’t Australia do the same?

EO 14224 — Designating English as the Official Language of the United States

EO 14253:   Restoring Truth and Sanity to American History.  Attacks cultural pessimism and the removal of monuments to past historical figures.  In Trump’s words:  “Over the past decade, Americans have witnessed a concerted and widespread effort to rewrite our Nation’s history, replacing objective facts with a distorted narrative driven by ideology rather than truth.  This revisionist movement seeks to undermine the remarkable achievements of the United States by casting its founding principles and historical milestones in a negative light.  Under this historical revision, our Nation’s unparalleled legacy of advancing liberty, individual rights, and human happiness is reconstructed as inherently racist, sexist, oppressive, or otherwise irredeemably flawed.  Rather than fostering unity and a deeper understanding of our shared past, the widespread effort to rewrite history deepens societal divides and fosters a sense of national shame, disregarding the progress America has made and the ideals that continue to inspire millions around the globe”“   [Exactly the same is observed in Australia from the Greens and extreme left.]

ECONOMIC EFFICIENCY

EO 14151 and 14170 — Ending radical and wasteful government DEI programs and preferencing, reforming the federal hiring process and restoring merit to government service.  This eliminates diversity, equity and inclusion (DEI) programs within the federal government in favour of policies focusing on “merit, practical skill, and dedication to our Constitution” as opposed to racial discrimination or other equity programs.  Quotas based on race, gender, religious or sexual identity are an abomination, destroyer of excellence and even public safety.

EO 14158 — Establishing and Implementing the President’s Department of Government Efficiency

This VERY MAJOR INITIATIVE is a war on waste.   DOGE has already uncovered trillions of dollars in unwarranted and frankly corrupt expenditure.

EO 14169 — Reevaluating and Realigning United States Foreign Aid.  This pauses and reviews all foreign aid programs to ensure efficiency and consistency with the U.S. national interests.   DOGE has uncovered unimaginably massive corruption in USAID as well as DOGE’s funding of absurdly woke and programs not wanted by the recipients.

EO 14192 — Unleashing Prosperity Through Deregulation.  Executive agencies must repeal 10 existing regulations for every new regulation introduced during FY 2025.  During the Hawke government in Australia we had a Business Regulations Review Unit (BRRU).  We need to revisit this and greatly strengthen it as governments at ALL levels in Australia are doing many functions that don’t need to be done and sap productivity.

EO 14196 — A Plan for Establishing a United States Sovereign Wealth Fund.  This will promote fiscal sustainability and lower tax burdens on American families and small businesses.

EO 14257:   Regulating Imports With a Reciprocal Tariff To Rectify Trade Practices That Contribute to Large and Persistent Annual United States Goods Trade Deficits.  This measure, signed April 2, has been EXTREMELY CONTROVERSIAL and has drawn strong criticism because of its immediate effect on bilateral relations and, certainly in the short term, on stock markets.  See discussion further below.

ENERGY AND MINING

EO 14153 and 14154— Unleashing Alaska’s Extraordinary Resource Potential, and Unleashing American Energy.  These promote the development and use of Alaska’s natural resources and encourage domestic energy production, by removing regulatory barriers, expediting the permitting process and prioritizing energy projects.  Other EOs promote mining and timber production.

NATIONAL SECURITY AND IMMIGRATION

EO 14157 and EO 14161— Designating cartels and other organizations as foreign terrorist organizations and specially designated global terrorists, and protecting the United States from foreign terrorists and other national security and public safety threats.  These defend national security, and enhance screening processes for undocumented migrants in the U.S. or other foreign nationals attempting to enter into the country.

EO 14159 — Protecting the American People Against Invasion.   This enhances enforcement of U.S. immigration laws by prioritizing the removal of undocumented migrants and strengthening border security.  We have a similar problem in Australia which the existing law is not coping with.

EO 14163 — Realigning the United States Refugee Admissions Program.  This suspends the U.S. Refugee Admissions Program due to “significant influxes” of migrants and pushes for appropriate assimilation of refugees.  Assimilation must be a vital part of a successful immigration program.

EO 14164 — Restoring the Death Penalty and Protecting Public Safety.  This directs the Attorney General to pursue the death penalty for federal capital crimes involving undocumented migrants or the murder of a law enforcement officer.  The permissive West gives too much weight to perpetrators’ human rights and not to justice for victims and protection of the community.

EO 14183 and 14185— Prioritizing Military Excellence and Readiness, and Restoring America’s Fighting Force.  This sets high standards for fitness and ability in the U.S. Armed Forces, excludes those with gender dysphoria from military service, ELIMINATES DEI PROGRAMS WITHIN THE ARMED FORCES and ensures that military decisions are made based solely on merit.

EO 14186 — The Iron Dome for America.  This develops and deploys an advanced missile defence shield to protect against aerial threats.

EO 14193 and 14194— Imposing Duties To Address the Flow of Illicit Drugs Across Our Northern Border and Southern Border.  These impose tariffs on Canadian and Mexican products while addressing a national emergency involving fentanyl trafficking at the northern U.S. border and drug trafficking and illegal immigration at the southern U.S. border.  (Subsequent EOs have modified these in light of the Canadian and Mexican responses.)

EO 14195 — Imposing Duties To Address the Synthetic Opioid Supply Chain in the People’s Republic of China.  This imposes tariffs on Chinese products while addressing a national emergency involving synthetic opioids flowing into the U.S. from China.

EO 14218 — Ending Taxpayer Subsidization of Open Borders.  This ensures federal public benefits don’t go toward undocumented migrants by enhancing eligibility verification and withholding funds from states or cities with “sanctuary” policies.

ENVIRONMENT AND THE UN

EO 14162 — Putting America First in International Environmental Agreements.  This withdraws from international environmental agreements like the Paris Agreement.  (NO NET ZERO!)

EO 14199 — Withdrawing the United States From and Ending Funding to Certain United Nations Organizations and Reviewing United States Support to All International Organizations.  This withdraws U.S. participation and funding in several U.N. organizations – the UN Human Rights Commission, UNESCO and UNRWA, all of which have been infiltrated and  corrupted.

HEALTH

EO 14155 — Withdrawing the United States from the World Health Organization.  This holds the WHO accountable for its failures in handling the COVID-19 pandemic and rejects the “onerous” financial demands on the U.S.

EO 14174, 14184 and 14214  — Revocation of previous Executive Orders that required COVID-19 vaccinations for federal employees;  Reinstating Service Members Discharged Under the Military’s COVID-19 Vaccination Mandate;  and Ending COVID-19 Vaccine Mandates in Schools.  This restores rank and pay for military service members who were discharged for refusing the COVID-19 vaccine;  and ensures no federal funds to educational institutions that mandate COVID-19 vaccines for students.

EO 14212 — Establishing the President’s Make America Healthy Again Commission.  This establishes a “Make America Healthy Again Commission” to study and recommend policies to improve chronic disease rates.  A MAJOR INITIATIVE promoted by Robert F. Kennedy Jr.

ECONOMIC EFFECTS OF TRUMP’S TARIFF ACTIONS

The stockmarket rises and falls all the time.   Current drops are a temporary “animal spirits” reaction that will be proved to be wrong.   Trump is no fool.  He knows what he is doing, and anticipates the short term reactions.  But he will prevail, probably most of the tariff increases will be removed when he has achieved his objectives with other countries, and America will be better off.  And so will we in Australia.

As one commenter wrote on the Australian’s web edition on 7 April,  “All those nervous nellies crystallising their share losses by panic selling.  A golden opportunity to start picking up some bargains for those who are able to control their fear, and know more about the history of stock market declines than the average punter.”

Trump’s tariffs are intended not to punish, but to RESET.  Tariffs are strategic weapons—used to pressure foreign powers, defend free speech, and demand fair treatment.  And why shouldn’t Australia do what Trump is doing?   Some hard facts:

We’ve lost our car industry – in a market with over a million new vehicle sales each year!  We import over 90% of our pharmaceuticals.  Our fuel refining capacity is dangerously low, and we now have only three fuel refineries.  We rely on China for fertilizer, electronics, and defence manufacturing inputs.  Our nation couldn’t fight a real war—or even sustain an economic shock—without foreign permission.

We’ve got critical industries—steel, agriculture, food processing—that have been bled dry by cheap imports and poor trade deals.

We have lost self-reliance to the ideology of economic rationalism – great in theory, but now proved to be catastrophic for national security.  A sovereign nation should be able to feed itself, power itself, defend itself, and manufacture what it needs to survive.

Trump’s tariffs are a threat to globalists, but not to workers, and not to citizens.  Certainly not to nations who want their dignity back.

The sanctions imposed by the West on Russia – the equivalent of a very severe tariff – have greatly invigorated Russian industry and self sufficiency.  They have certainly not weakened Russia.

THE EVIDENCE VINDICATING TRUMP’S TARIFF STRATEGY IS COMING IN IN AN AVALANCHE.

Nearly 50 countries want tariff deals, Trump trade chief Greer says

WASHINGTON — US Trade Representative Jamieson Greer will tell the Senate Finance Committee on Tuesday (April 8) that nearly 50 countries have approached him to discuss new sweeping tariffs imposed by President Donald Trump. The comments echo US National Economic Council Director Kevin Hassett’s disclosure over the weekend that more countries have reached out to the White House to begin trade negotiations.

Several of these countries, such as Argentina, Vietnam, and Israel, have suggested they will reduce their tariffs and non-tariff barriers,” Greer said in written testimony seen by Reuters. “These obviously are welcome moves. Our large and persistent trade deficit has been over 30 years in the making, and it will not be resolved overnight, but all of this is in the right direction,” Greer added.

He said Trump’s plans were bearing fruit, mentioning that one automaker had shifted production plans for one vehicle from Mexico to Indiana.

But he warned that there would be some difficulties in the transition. “We must move away from an economy based solely on the financial sector and government spending, and we must become an economy based on producing real goods and services,” Greer said.

Greer noted in his testimony that the US has lost five million manufacturing jobs and 90,000 factories since 1994, when the North American Free Trade Agreement was implemented, with the trend accelerating since China joined the World Trade Organisation in 2001.

The current state of play looks like brinkmanship, especially with China,  and is drawing kneejerk reactions from commentators who lack appreciation of the strategy being played out.

Trump is attacking key problems besetting the US.  The United States is drowning in debt – over $34 trillion and climbing.  The debt-to-GDP ratio is hovering around 120%—a level once reserved for failed economies.  And the global system that led them there—the one championed by Davos technocrats, unelected World Bank bureaucrats, IMF enforcers, and World Economic Forum mouthpieces—is the same one that hollowed out their industry, shipped wealth offshore, and turned the greatest industrial economy in human history into a debt-addicted consumer shell.

Economic commentator Robert Gottliebsen has a very canny article in The Australian on 9 April, which is definitely worth reading https://www.theaustralian.com.au/commentary/donald-trump-unpopular-tariffs-have-economic-justification-robert-gottliebsen/news-story/aaa7e9b5428b110054866e7aecf7676e

Another very good article from 9 April is this one:

Daniel Jupp’s take on what is going on

Countering the nonsense from mainstream media about how the sky is falling in, read these perceptive comments from Daniel Jupp on substack, April 10:

Huge tariffs exist on US goods. Trump introduces reciprocal tariffs.

Trump has successfully isolated China and forced a major renegotiation of trade tariffs unfair to the US by other countries. At the same time US companies rush to bring jobs home. Investment in the US soars.

Trump pauses tariffs for negotiations. The stock market bounces back.

The status quo is set up to ensure that China benefits from western nations declining and failing, while a small number of western Globalist traitors profit from that.

The tariffs are the other side of DOGE. It’s a massive attempt to reform the entire global system before it’s too late. DOGE identifies the waste and corruption within, which has a global effect funding madness and war elsewhere. That is all money that is being stolen from the US taxpayer and artificially tipping the world towards insane, non productive, self harming ideologies. The tariffs do the same thing with the global economic system, identifying the injustices that harm the US and seeking to stop massive waste and massive systemic disadvantage.

At the same time they address the elephant in the room, Chinese power, Chinese expansion and dependency on Chinese manufacturing.

Trump has already got China dependent nations to recognize that they are more dependent on the US. He’s already got China isolated in a way that is quicker and much more effective than the failed attempt to isolate a much weaker Russia was.

[Trump’s actions are] a serious attempt that recognizes the actual situation and wants a way out that is beneficial to the majority of ordinary people.
