The Church in the West is dying, and so, culturally, is most of the West. But in Russia, the Orthodox Church is strongly resurgent – as culturally is Russia.

This is an edited extract from an article by Howell Woltz, writing from Poland from a Roman Catholic perspective. Some commentary by David Truman has been added.
Our lives in the collective West today are ruled by would-be tyrants with clearly satanic intent. Riven with pedophiles, outright communists and rank atheists, they seek to completely destroy our free will of God’s New Covenant with mankind. The demons trample us underfoot with invaders imported to subsume and replace us – and our culture(s) – which includes our civilization’s free will foundation known as Christianity.

While the Roman Catholic Church in Western Europe today is shrinking under the heavy influence of Globalist Marxism, in Russia the Eastern Orthodox Church which threw off Communism is growing, as never before in its history.
Orthodox Christians know Communism. They suffered greatly under Marxists and could have died out completely under those evil forces. It is shocking that under the present benighted Pope, the Church of Rome now seems to favour or even fawn over it, even while surely knowing it only leads to death.
The Eastern Church learned the hard way that Marxism in any of its forms is satanic–a lesson yet to be learned by our Roman Catholic leaders, unfortunately.
I [Howell Woltz] received a letter written by Father Michael Wood (a priest in the Russian Orthodox Church Outside of Russia) from an Australian friend, which explains much about what is transpiring in the Orthodox Church in Russia today – and why that branch of Catholicism grows while the Roman branch dies in most of western Europe. (COMMENT: The same is true in Europe of Lutheranism in Scandinavia, and of the Church of England. .They no longer hold to foundational beliefs and are gradually disappearing, as they should.)
Father Michael Wood writes:
“Russia today is not Stalin’s Russia, nor is it Hitler’s Germany. Yes, it is strongly led, but it is not a dictatorship; it is strongly led towards a Christian civilization, and modern westerners have no conception of what that means. It frightens them, because they have never seen a strong Christian empire. It is frightening unknown territory for the modern licentious westerner.
“Russia is a re-Christianizing nation that stands against the moral decay and atheistic globalism of the West. Putin leads a strong Christian state modeled on Byzantium, where Church and State work in harmony to protect traditional values. Russia will not retreat, as it is reclaiming its historic Christian territory and standing as the last bastion against Western moral collapse.
“The important point to bear in mind is that Orthodox Christianity has totally supplanted communism as the ideology of Russia. Russia has returned, over these past thirty-four years, to her thousand-year home as a Christian state.”
Both Vladimir Putin and his deputy, Dmitri Medvedev, espoused their Christianity during the communist period when Russia was under Soviet control and it was still very dangerous to do it, so I believe them both to be sincere in their conversion.

These two leaders have now rebuilt over 35,000 of the Christian places of worship destroyed by the Bolsheviks–over 1,000 of them in Moscow alone–while my church of Rome is dying unnecessarily in the evil embrace of Islamic invaders (whom they openly support) while coddling communist influencers and nations the world over.
By their fruits ye shall know them, and the ‘fruits’ on the Western side of the schism are rotten.
According to the Vatican Census, The Catholic Church is still growing in places, but not in its European home base, where it has lost 300,000 members. (https://www.americamagazine.org/faith/2021/10/21/vatican-census-catholic-church-growing-241696)
Why is this the case, when our sister (Orthodox) church to the east is growing so rapidly?
Perhaps it is because the Orthodox Church has not strayed into scandals and shame due to non-biblical demands of celibacy, nor has it suffered protestant splintering and financial ruin, as has the Church of Rome.
The current papacy embraces trangenderism, homosexuality, and religions whose key tenet is the murder of all Christians, Jews and Kaffir [non-believers in Islam]. It boggles the mind.
Koran 5:33 states that “those who wage war against Allah and His Messenger and strive upon earth to cause corruption should be punished by death, crucifixion, the amputation of their hands and their feet, or should be entirely banished from the face of the earth. Such is their disgrace in this world. In the Hereafter, a terrible punishment awaits them.”

Meanwhile, in today’s Russia, the churches are full of young families with children.
The prognosis? On its present trajectory, the West is not going to make it – with a small number of honourable mentions like Hungary and Poland (both of which have held to their faith and know the evil of communism).

The war in Ukraine has drawn much criticism from Westerners who rabbit on about how the invasion was “unprovoked” – a LIE. For the detailed history, see https://freedomandheritage.org.au/russias-invasion-of-ukraine/. The war in Ukraine has rekindled the Russophobia from the long years of the Cold War and the West persists in using Ukraine as a proxy to weaken Russia by fighting to the last Ukrainian. This is catastrophic and ruinous Western policy, both for Ukraine, for Russia, and for Western economies.
That said, Russia on its present trajectory WILL MAKE IT. It believes in itself, it affirms and defends its historical values and culture, and has strongly reembraced the Orthodox Christianity which it took from Byzantium over a thousand years ago.
