WHAT WE DO
We are Committed to defending our freedom and Heritage
By Chris Newman, Chairman
Freedom and Heritage Society has a mission to explain what the heritage of our modern Australian nation is, to defend it, and to educate the readers of our website about it.
Patriots strive to protect and advance the nation. Traitors are those living here who oppose the patriotic cause.
The roots of our heritage are more enduring than the passing fashions of contemporary culture. Our civilizational heritage as Australians was bequeathed us by our Western, Anglo-Celtic, Christian and secular ancestors. We are patriots imbued with a love of our homeland and a desire to communicate this and pass it on to our children and grandchildren.
The freedoms we now enjoy derive from the sacrifice and investment of life and love, and pursuit of truth, by the people who founded, pioneered, built and defended this magnificent nation; and of course, of the British tradition of law and Parliamentary government which they brought into this country. On these foundations our nation has enjoyed enviable political and social stability while its population and economy have grown continuously over the past two and a half centuries.
Western societies share the following unchangeable Heritage Values:
- The Rule of law
- Freedom of speech and religious practice
- Private property and free markets
- Participative democracy
- Individual rights and personal responsibilities.
The degree of acceptance and practice of these five foundations indicates the level of development of the political, economic and social order of a society. The five elements are intimately interconnected. A society built on them will flourish. The wellbeing of each individual citizen, and of the whole community and society, becomes a matter of mutual protection, shared trust and united effort.
Lack of respect for these values indicates that something is amiss within a person, a cause or a movement.
Every Australian town has at its centre a war memorial. The memorial has the names of forebears who sacrificed their lives in the pursuit of their patriotic duty. Ceremonies at this monument on ANZAC Day symbolize our shared history and debt to those who paid the price for defence of family and homeland against the danger of tyranny.
The national prayer for fallen ANZAC servicemen and women is captured in the phrase “Lest We Forget”, spoken in memory of their sacrifice. It is our responsibility to pass on intact to our descendants the freedoms we continue to enjoy.
Tyrants and tyrannical cultures threaten these Heritage Values. Globalism, Hegemony seekers, Political Correctness, Cultural Marxism and similar illiberal ideologies such as Islam, all hate Australian patriotic culture, symbols and institutions.
The Freedom and Heritage Society of Australia stands for the protection, promotion and advance of Heritage Values. We oppose all systems and projects which would diminish or subvert the priceless inheritance we hold in trust to pass to future generations.
Our Australian Heritage Values connect you with your children and grandchildren. We invite you to support and join our society in our commitment to preserve, protect and advance Australian culture, sovereignty and civilization.
Why this website?
By David Truman, Secretary
This website is intended to be an intellectual resource for people of good will who want to understand what is happening in the world, especially the threats to our freedoms and the bedrock values of our society and institutions. The starting point for this is to understand and value what we have.
We live in a period when Australians, and other Westerners, have never had so much to be grateful for – and yet never have so many people been ungrateful. Cultural pessimism embodying a “black armband view of history,” political correctness and “cancel culture” are key weapons of Cultural Marxism against the values and institutions of Western civilization; and people caught up in this negative worldview too often become Useful Idiots who enable the penetration into our society of Islam, an extremely intolerant ideology.
I was asked several years ago to say what I thought was the MOST IMPORTANT ISSUE FACING THE COUNTRY. My answer was and still is this:
The abandonment of our Christian roots and beliefs, and the consequent takeover of our culture, education system and public opinion by leftist, relativist, nihilist and globalist ideas.
These subvert morality, patriotism, and respect for truth by imposing political correctness and fostering indifference to evil. They also destroy the work ethic and the pursuit of excellence.
The website is growing, with much more still to be posted. Articles are presently grouped under these eight categories:
1. Western and Australian heritage
2. Cultural Marxism
3. Multiculturalism and Immigration
4. Islam
5. Globalism, Agenda 21 and New World Order
6. Current Events
7. Culture War
8. Freedom and Heritage Society
What is happening in the world? This is a very important question, and unfortunately huge numbers of people do not understand the mega-developments that have been occurring and which have accelerated over the past one to two decades. A key development is the greatly magnified concentration of power in the hands of globalist economic and political elites, a rapid curtailment of personal freedoms, and unfortunately, a preparedness by far too many of the citizenry to accept these controls on their lives out of fear – deliberately engineered fear.
Freedom and Heritage intends to run a RED PILL UNIVERSITY to educate people about the bewildering and baleful complexity of current world developments. We are already doing this in New Zealand and will be shortly starting in Australia.
